Martha Whitehead

Martha Whitehead was appointed interim University Librarian at Queen’s University in July 2010, for a three year term. Martha’s interest in research libraries began as an undergraduate, working as a student assistant at the University of British Columbia Library. She was hired as a librarian at UBC upon completing her MLS in 1985, and spent 19 years there in positions spanning information technologies and services to support learning and research. In 2004 she became Associate University Librarian at Queen’s.

Martha has held positions in the British Columbia Library Association, served on the Education Advisory Committee of the Vancouver Foundation, led several initiatives with the Ontario Scholars Portal and currently chairs CRKN’s Negotiations Resource Team and serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
