2010 Annual General Meeting
The 2010 Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) will be held Tuesday, September 14 and Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the Fairmont Winnipeg Hotel, 2 Lombard Place, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Pursuant to CRKN by-law sections 17 and 18, the annual meeting of the members (business meeting) will take place Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the Fairmont Winnipeg Hotel at 11:00 am local time, for the following purposes:
- To approve the minutes of the 2009 Annual Meeting of the Members;
- To receive the Financial Statements for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2010 and the report of the auditors thereon;
- To appoint the auditors for the fiscal year 2010-2011;
- To consider by-law amendments, if any; and
- To transact any other business as may properly be brought before the meeting.
Individuals eligible to vote at this meeting must be the CRKN voting representatives of the Institutional Member institutions, as appointed by the university president, or have been given written proxy by the voting representative. The voting representative may also give written proxy to the Chair of the CRKN Board of Directors.
Proxy forms are available here or upon request from the CRKN office. Signed proxy forms must be received by CRKN no later than September 10, 2010 at 4:00 pm EDT.
Advance registration for the meeting will be available in August 2010.

Invitation to Register for CRKN’s 2010 AGM – September 14-15, 2010
Dear Colleagues:
It is my pleasure to invite you to the 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN). For the first time the AGM will be held through combined in-person and electronic means, as a way to encourage participation from as many members as possible.
This year marks CRKN’s 10th Anniversary which we celebrate under the theme of “Research to the Power of 10”. The event will take place September 14-15, 2010, in Winnipeg and will offer a series of issue-based and business sessions. Plenary sessions will be webcast live, then posted on the website a week or so after the event. We welcome participation from library directors (i.e. CRKN voting representatives) and staff from our member universities, as well as regional consortia representatives. I encourage library directors to invite their staff to attend sessions of interest.
Advance online registration is now open for both in-person and online participation. Please register at the following link. As you register, I urge you to take in the podcasting series - located on the same web page - outlining programming for the event.
This year for the first time CRKN will charge a nominal registration fee of $100 for in-person participants. If you have any questions or need other information, please contact Dyna Vink (dvink@ResearchKnowledge.ca) or Cindy Smith (cbsmith@ResearchKnowledge.ca) who will be able to assist you.

The 2010 AGM will take place in Winnipeg at the Fairmont Winnipeg Hotel. There is a block of rooms available for the convenience of CRKN members at a negotiated rate of $135.00 per night.
