CRKN Welcomes Staff Members Kyla Denault and Monica Ward

The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) is pleased to welcome Kyla Denault and Monica Ward to its staff team.

Kyla Denault joins CRKN in the position of Office Administrator. Kyla will have responsibility for administrative and governance support, as well as for meeting and event planning and co-ordination. With over 10 years experience, Kyla demonstrates a flare for multi-tasking and customer service. Kyla comes to CRKN most recently from the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre, and has also worked at the Canadian Deposit Insurance Corporation, NAV Canada and also an entrepreneur who owned and operated two successful businesses. She earned a Certificate in Conventions and Meeting Management as well as an Executive Diploma in Office Administration, both from Algonquin College. She began her work at CRKN on September 15, 2011.

Monica Ward joins CRKN as Member Services Officer. As part of the three-person Member Services group, Monica handles front line member inquires and service issues, and supports the full cycle of content prioritization, license acquisition and renewal process. Monica has held several positions at the Halifax Public Libraries in Nova Scotia; most recently she worked at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office Resource Centre as an Information Specialist. She is a recent graduate from the Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) program at Dalhousie University. Monica began her work at CRKN on September 6, 2011.

They both bring a strong service orientation, valuable French language skills, new ideas, and a high level of initiative and enthusiasm to our organization ,” said Deb deBruijn, Executive Director. “They are a welcome addition to our overall staff complement as we undertake final preparations for the Annual General Meeting in October, an event that provides an ideal opportunity for members to meet and interact with our new staff.”
