Strategic Plan 2010-2012
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to present to you CRKN’s Strategic Plan for 2010-2012.
The plan was developed through extensive outreach and consultations,and endorsed by CRKN members at our 2010 Annual General Meeting.The plan reaffirms CRKN’s mission to build Canada’s research capacity and to transform the environment for university researchers Canada-wide. It also sets out pragmatic measures for achieving results that are valued by our members, during what is expected to be a continuing time of serious economic restraint.
The plan relies not only on focusing CRKN’s resources as an organization, but also strengthening the engagement of members and expanding alliances with other stakeholders, nationally and internationally.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our members who have been actively engaged in the process of setting strategic directions for the organization. Our attention now turns to implementation, and we likewise
look to members, as owners of the plan, to be engaged in measuring CRKN’s progress toward its objectives and communicating results.
With this Strategic Plan, the committed leadership of university libraries, and the enduring importance of content as knowledge infrastructure, CRKN looks forward to meeting the challenges ahead.
