Governance

CRKN rigorously supports a governance infrastructure that includes a Board of Directors, Standing Committees, Task Groups, Policies and Management.

In 2010 a Governance Review was launched as part of an ongoing commitment to good governance. This review is being led by the Governance Committee, and provides an opportunity for CRKN and its members to consider the size and composition of the Board of Directors in the context of the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic directions. The Board composition is largely unchanged from inception of CNSLP in 2000, and the organization has undergone significant growth and evolution since that time. With the pending legislation for not-for-profit organizations expected to come into effect in September 2011, the review is carried out with the understanding that the status quo no longer an option.

The Governance Committee submitted an Interim Report to the Board in September 2010, and will deliver its final recommendations in June 2011. See the flowchart of the full governance review process.
